The “Big Life”

After college, I got a job at an investment company in Downtown Boston. I took the train to work every day. I was proud, because I thought it was what I was “supposed” to do.
After a few months of very long train rides from Providence to Boston and walking in one too many snow storms I found myself dreading work on Monday mornings. Well, every morning, actually.

The work I did was tedious, I was just 1 of hundreds. The pay was barely sufficient, and the only thing I liked about the job were the few friends I had made there.
I would call in sick ( more times than I’d like to admit) and I would drive around beautiful neighborhoods wondering how people could afford to live like this and still enjoy their lives.
This was the time in my life, about 18 years ago where I started getting this feeling deep in my heart that told me, I was meant to do more.
As the years passed, I got married, had children and held other jobs, but the feeling in my heart stayed strong, telling me, I was meant to do something more than work in an office 9-5 every day. It just wasn’t what I was here for. But I had no idea what that “other thing” was.
Tonight I can lay in bed thinking about tomorrow, Monday morning, and I’m happy! Excited even! To check in with my coaches and see how the people In my challenge groups are doing? I love answering their questions and finding out how their weekend went and letting them know, it’s ok if you didn’t get your workouts in!! Today is a new day.
Most of all, my heart and head are finally at peace. I no longer drive around and wonder how people live these big lives?? Because I now love my own life! I KNOW this is exactly where I belong. It took me 18 years to get here, but it was worth it❤️
If you have that feeling in your heart, telling you, there is something more out there for you, don’t ignore it!! Be open to finding it! It will be worth it!

Ok Moms, let’s get serious here.

Being a stay at home mom is amazing! We get to see our children grow up, go to all of their games and practices and get hugs and snuggles in the middle of the day!!
We are sooo lucky, right???
Lol, it’s not that simple!!
Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t change being an at home mom for anything, BUT…..

We clean bums and noses all day

Wipe up spill after spill

We’re always stepping in something sticky, finding food in places where there just shouldn’t be food and yelling things like “get your mouth off the toilet!”

For once, I would love to go to the bathroom alone. Or shower, alone. Or do anything alone, actually.
I know we are blessed. But, being so blessed comes with some not so great benefits.
We are around food all day long! The food our kids like and can somehow eat 2 bites of and leave the rest. Of course we can’t let it go to waist, so we eat it. A handful of fish crackers here, the crust from the pb&j there. Oh, you didn’t want that half of your grilled cheese? No worries, mom will eat it.

Now, don’t get me started on finding time to exercise!! What?? Get up at 4:30 am to run on the treadmill in my gloomy basement?? Um, no thanks. I’m sorry, I just can’t! Am I alone here??
My alarm clock is my 3 year old and by the time I’m done putting all 3 kids to bed, the only exercise I want is the bicep curl of a glass of wine coming up to my lips!
“But you’re a Health & Fitness Coach!” I know, I know. But I’m a mom and a wife first. I struggled with all of that above for years and years. I’ve never been “thin” I’ve struggled with those 10-20 lbs my whole life, until I was invited to a “CHALLENGE GROUP”!
A simple little challenge group changed the course of my life. No joke.
-Are you tired of being tired?
-Want to feel good in your own skin?

-Be able to give a little more to your family?

-Be a good example for your children?

I got #MOMSTRONG and I want you to get #MOMSTRONG with me!
Fill out this quick survey and I’ll get back to you with all the details, ASAP

I love this quote!
It can mean so many different things to everyone.

I first saw it when I had joined a health and fitness challenge group over a year ago. I realized, if I wanted to actually be fit and in good health, I was going to have to change my lifestyle and my mind set. And I did, because I was ready!
The next time this quote really spoke to me was when I decided to take a giant step out of my comfort zone and join Beachbody as a coach. And I did, because I knew I was meant for bigger things than sitting in an office every day working for someone else’s dreams. Again, I had to change my lifestyle and my mind set.

Making a change, big or small in your life, is scary. But without fear, there is no change. Embrace the fear and go for whatever it is you need to change in your life! It will be worth it!!
